Recently I was sent a bottle of Salute American Vodka to sample. An American-made vodka created from corn and wheat grains, Salute American is distilled four times for a smooth, clean taste.
This is a new vodka that just became available in Florida.
I can attest to the fact that it has a smooth taste. But the reason I was really intrruigued by Salute is that the company has a mission to help American Veterans transition from military
to civilian life. To accomplish this, they are donating one dollar of
every bottle sold to fund specific projects benefiting American servicemen
and women. And not just during special times of need. It’s one dollar for
every bottle sold... forever.
While I've tasted Salute in a simple cocktail: vodka & soda with lime, I haven't yet made a batch of festive drinks using it. I think, given the story behind the spirits, the only logical choice is to hit up Pinterest for some patriotic vodka cocktail recipes.
There's a holiday weekend right around the corner, and I'm planning to make some variation of at least one of these red, white and blue drinks with my bottle of Salute. Follow Salute American Vodka on their Facebook page Twitter @saluteamerican
